Probiotics produce postbiotics, which are by-products of the fermentation cycle in the colon. In other words, probiotics feed on prebiotics, hence postbiotic supplements are created. They are simply probiotics' "waste." It does not appear that waste goods will be beneficial to us. Surprisingly, they are responsible for a number of important health-promoting functions in our intestines.
