According to the CGA’s Hospitality at Home Tracker, sales of deliveries and takeaways have almost tripled in the last year. It’s no wonder that this is the case. With pubs restaurants ordered to close due to the spread of COVID-19 from 20th March 2020, more and more people have turned to takeaways to provide them with their favourite meals from the comfort of their own homes. Because many restaurants, pubs, and bars were given the opportunity to provide their menu’s as a delivery service, businesses able to collect and deliver food to people across the UK saw their sales skyrocket. Companies such as Just Eat and Deliveroo were busier than ever, at a time where many businesses were collapsing under the strain of not being able to operate at total capacity or even open at all.
