Stroke Introduction

Every year, approximately 1.5 million Indians experience a stroke, yet many people lack awareness about this condition. Understanding what a stroke is, its indicators, diagnosis, treatment, and additional information is crucial. A stroke occurs when the blood supply to the brain is either reduced or completely cut off, leading to the death of brain cells. The brain receives necessary oxygen and nutrients via the bloodstream; therefore, when blood flow is disrupted, brain cells start to deteriorate within minutes. Since different parts of the brain control specific functions, the loss of brain cells in these areas impairs the respective functions they control.
